News from Escuelita #4344!
Nestor Mendoza, director of School #4344 in San Isidro, Iruya, province of Salta sent us some news about the use of the 1st transfer of funds.
After meeting with the whole community and drafting the plan of purchase, Nestor went from Iruya to the capital Salta to purchase the equipment. This is a 315km journey of almost 5hrs by car. The last section to get to the school is particularly difficult to get, and only accessible by 4x4. Nevertheless, Nestor and the community managed to bring 25 new pairs of shoes for all the students, kitchen appliances (Freezer, Mixer, and Washingmachine), and school equipment (WhiteBoards, TV, Laptop).
Argentina FC is very excited to see that the school and community already benefiting from the efforts put together on the “Play for Iruya” charity football tournament and that the young kids will be able to watch the WorldCup on TV!!! We are also very impressed by how Nestor, the director, is able to gather the community, discuss the best use of the funds, and sign the decision on a document (see below). We believe that the best use of the funds can only be decided by the community itself. So, we are really happy that we can provide in between many things, a TV to be able to watch documentaries, and also the WorldCup! This is fundamental equipment for the development of the young students at San Isidro School.
