On Messi, Bati, Pupi, TT and PELOPINCHOS

Messi, Pupi Zanetti, Batistuta, and Ronaldinho give way to our very own German-Argentinean player, "TT”, as the most inspiring players, ever….

Last Monday, the virtual halls of Argentina FC echoed with enthusiasm and strategic discussions during our committee meeting. As we navigated through the agenda, it became evident that the passion for football, both on and off the field, is the driving force behind our beloved amateur club. Here's a recap of the key points discussed and decisions made during our virtual gathering.

Inspiration Kicks In: The meeting kicked off with a unique touch as each committee member shared insights into their most inspiring football players. While familiar names like Messi, Batistuta, and Ronaldinho echoed through the virtual room, a standout mention was our very own German-Argentinean player, "TT." Renowned for his lightning speed and cunning left-side play, TT is not one to back down, especially if Arthur is in the stands demanding “Huevos” from he team.

We much prefer meetings at Angie’s office, not this time unfortunately…

Chairman's Corner: The Chairman set the tone by reminding everyone to include all teams in discussions, fostering a sense of unity across the club. A report on committee actions was presented, emphasizing the ongoing preparations for the historical fixture between Males 1.0 and 2.0.

Social Spotlight: The Social Officer highlighted plans for a potential Social Team, with the help of Tomi H and Pulga. Angie to suggest women representatives! Effective WhatsApp communication methods were celebrated, and the planning for the upcoming Gira in January was set in motion.

CEO's Update: Exciting news surfaced as Luli from the Women's team gained access to Barclays, marking a successful, and very bureaucratically tough milestone. Recruitment efforts using the Google form sign-up form were progressing well. VEO cost analysis was completed, paving the way for a decision on the VEO camera and its role in quick decision-making processes by November 23rd.

Strategic Moves by Sport Director: The Sport Director showcased ongoing efforts to establish connections with women's teams. Plans for handling team players and training from this season were approved, with the potential addition of a third team contingent on expanding training pitch capacity from the next one.

Discipline and Strategy: The Disciplinary Officer proposed and received approval for a unified approach to match preparation between Males 1.0 and 2.0, with a special focus on collaboration with captains and the passionate chant, "Argentina Carajo." A proposal to ask referees not to play with Linemen was also approved.

Secretary & Comms Officer Insights: The Secretary & Comms Officer delved into the challenge of waterlogged rain pitch suspensions and explored alternative training venues to accommodate the club's growth. The possibility of a sponsorship deal was discussed, but delayed due to movements within the sponsor's team.

Charitable Initiatives: The Charity segment revealed progress in San Isidro de Iruya (with a brand new “PELOPINCHO” installed!) and Arroyo Caracoles, where Argentina FC's involvement in infrastructure works was commendable. Plans to revisit transfers from Western Union were discussed, aiming for more efficient fund transfers. A calendar of charitable events, including collaborations with local UK charities, is in the works.

Women Teams: Women's team updates included the appointment of sub-captains and the successful implementation of training sessions. The proposal to include "Women Captains" and a Social Media Officer in the committee was put forward for next meeting.

Financial Footwork: The Finance Officer addressed budgetary concerns, emphasizing the need to source footballs from the budget. Adjustments to quotas for new players were discussed, and a pro-bono auditor, "TOTA," was assigned for biannual audits.

As we wrap up the year, Argentina FC stands united, driven by the love of the beautiful game and a commitment to community and camaraderie. The decisions and actions recorded in our spreadsheet look straightforward, but the reality is a bit more complex, looking more like a corner goal after several rebounds inside the area.

Abrazo,

Tincheiras
