Uniting around football: A day of friendly competition at Eton College

Argentina FC London helped out in a friendly football competition at Eton College with 28 young people and volunteers from Breadwinners (supporting young refugees into work), GMAX Trackstars Athletics Academy (supporting disadvantage young people through sport), and Hope for the Young (mentoring for young refugees).

Young people and ArgFC volunteers all defending the same goal!

The competition has become a cherished tradition between the organisations and was organised by Will from Eton College for the past three years. Argentina FC members collected football boots for donating, and helped coaching the teams of young people from all over the world, who met for the first time on the football pitch! The day was heartwarming and gave the young people the opportunity to build relationships, develop teamwork skills and instil confidence in themselves.

Argentina FC London split the boys into four teams, giving them the chance to make new friends and teammates on the same day. The competition was not only about physical activity or competition but about the uniting power of football. A massive thank you was given to everyone involved, and the team cannot wait for their next sporting event together.
